A Few Site Updates

Hello QRPedia Users,

I've been working on a few updates to the site and I wanted to give you a quick rundown of what's going on. First off, I updated Drupal (the site software) to the latest version. As far as I can tell, everything is still working correctly, but if you encounter something out of whack, please let me know. You may also notice the FAQ menu item in the main menu at the top. I'll try to keep this updated as appropriate. One other enhancement is the ability to add tags to any of the content that you create.

I'm also in the process of trying out a few new modules that will extend the functionality of the site. One of the first that I've installed is a module that will allow you to tag your user account or any content with a geographical coordinate. These tags can be view on a map, which is available on the sidebar as "Node locations" and "User locations". Give it a try and see what you think. Don't be shocked if you see some unexpected things pop up from time to time!

As always, I welcome your feedback for ways that I can improve the site.

73,

QTH coordinates and Thinking Out Loud...

Just entered my site coord's..will be interesting to see once more folks enter their location.

Just thinking out loud here, but if one wanted to make QRPedia their one stop web site, how hard would it be to have it where you can look up call signs, view Tweet messages, see current solar conditions, current QRP contests, upcoming events, etc.

Am I thinking too loudly?

Not too loudly

It's all achievable, as far as I can tell. I have been making slow progress towards that goal of adding more value to the site. I will try to roll out new features as time allows, but give me a prod if it looks like I'm not making enough progress.
