Where is everyone???

No activity for almost a week.  Either everyone is outside enjoying Spring or went QRO and no more building.

I'm here!

I'm around and enjoying this resource! We are starting a qrp group in Central Florida and ducking from all the rain we've received recently. Just north of here got hit with 27+ inches of rain in 5 days. Kind of put the kabosh on any portable ops over the Memorial Day weekend too.

Have a few projects on my table including a newly built Wilderness Sierra that does not seem to have much output. Not sure what the problem is just yet. Also building a Jackson Harbor LC meter and Son of Zerobeat plus a homebrewed SLT+ with a Scotch-Irish twist as I have interest in making an End Fed Half Wave work for my portable ops. Not sure how much I can contribute, but know I am interested and hope to see this site continue to provide great resources. I do a couple websites and blogs and know how much goes into keeping them going. Don't despair, we lurkers are here.

Not Sure

I don't know Mikey. I have been trying think up ways to stir up activity around here again. I could really use some ideas. I am starting to feel that it wasn't worth it for me to pay for the year of hosting that I just did, but I don't like having that feeling. I know that I need to work more on reorganizing the site to make it more user-friendly. Perhaps some small mini-projects that we could get done in an afternoon/evening and discuss. I'm just not sure.

Hello guys

Mikey et al,

I have been busy with the job thing, we get a nice 20% pay cut starting May 1st, and we've been hacking heads as fast as they can.  So I am doing all I can to remain valuable and employed. <grin>  I am sad to report that my efforts in having the entire 111th United States Congress tossed into prison have been sorely unspectacular.  Tea Party day is tomorrow.

I have been enjoying the CW-CODE WARRIOR group on Yahoo the last few weeks.  Those guys are great resources for loop antenna building.  They are currently engaged in building clones of the PAC-12 and having a lot of fun.  I regret the fact that I have not touched a soldering iron in about a month and a half.

Don't despair Jason, it's springtime and many of us are engulfed with yard work, home repairs, and a honey-do list that has been fermenting all winter long.

Thoughts of missing Dayton again this year are only comforted by the knowledge that on Field Day I will once again be with my Flying Pig buds at Ceasar Creek State Park in Waynesville Ohio.

Summer Things to Do

Brian,

Mamma is laying out the camping dates and looks like I will be in the mountains of ASP for Field Day this year.  I'm thinking of using a G5RV and K2 on top of a huge outcroping of rocks on top one of the peaks there.

Hope to make a lot of trips this summer with the camper! We are still trying to decide if we want a new camper or not this year, and even harder is which one...LOL.  Bottom line is it has to have a place for the k2 and soldering iron...mamma said OK and put it on the "must-have" list for the RV.

Not sure what the next project here will be...but will post something here once I get it figured.

Field Day

Gonna miss you at Field Day my friend.  I am going, taking my son (N9AWM) and his buddy (NOHAMYET), and I think Ivin W9ILF is coming too.  We're going to the site on Saturday morning, and will most likely stay the night barring any unforeseen tornado activity like last year....UGH.  So far it looks like Dan, Daryl, Rick, Matt, Phil, and I think Perry.  Have fun at FDIM and Dayton...my Marine ought to be home from Iraq sometime today, for the next two weeks...so I have better things than Dayton to do this time.

Your Marine...

I try to keep him in our prayers, and wonder how he is doing.

Ask him if he got his jerky I sent him? Never heard from him about it, but I never heard from my son-in-law while he was there either...mail problems.

I will try to come up with a reason to come down your way one of these days. We have talked about going to Tenn for a few weeks, so maybe we can go the I-69 to -65 route and stop in for a "Community Police Antenna Inspection"...LOL
