Schematic Capture

LTSpice IV

Although this software is primarly intended for simulation, it does have integrated schematic capture.

ExpressPCB

ExpressPCB provides free (as in beer) software for schematic capture and PCB layout. It is intended to be used for their PCB fabrication service, but can be used stand-alone for schematic capture.

Kicad

An open source schematic capture and PCB board editor.

TinyCAD

An open source schematic capture tool compatible with PADS. Can be used to generate netlists for other routing programs.

Matt, I think I set up permissions so that others can edit these pages. Can you do me a favor and try to stick the Tiny Cad link in the page so we can make sure it's working correctly? Thanks

Integrated schematic capture

Can you provide some detail as to what "integrated schematic capture" means and how the Spice program does it?

Thanks

Integrated Schematic Capture

What I mean is that in the orginal SPICE programs, you had to feed in a text file node list, usually one that you had to draw up by hand by labling a paper schematic. LTSpice allows you to draw out the schematic in the program and does all of the work of creating the node list for the underlying SPICE engine.
