I just discovered this web site and there seem to be knowledgeable Pixie builders here. I was wondering, can the Pixie be modded for 6 meters? I was wanting to try my luck with 6m because I could put up a half-wave dipole, which isn't possible for me on the lower-frequency bands.

Over on qrp-l.org, some discussions recently took place regarding the oscillator circuit in the Pixie II. Specifically, N1JER was struggling with getting a Colpitts oscillator based on the Pixie II working correctly. One thing that I suggested that he might try is substituting the colorburst crystal with a 3.58 MHz ceramic resonator. It turned out that KF6PQT saw my recommendation on the list and tried it himself.
