This circuit was previously posted by Jason derived from EMRFD.  I decided it had too much gain for what I wanted, so the unbypassed emitter resistor is increased from 10 to 100 ohms.  This circuit uses 60 mA but should provide a nice high intercept point by using two transistors in parallel.
